Part 3 of 3 workshops! $50 for the whole series or $18 for an individual workshop
Co-create: Knitted Cowl
$50 for 3 classes (2 - 2.5 hours each), $18/per to drop-in for general knitting help
Nov. 9, 16, 30 (yep, you get a break for Turkey!)
(No experience necessary)
Join in for a three week series where the novice, hopeful, and experienced alike will leave the class with a perfectly handmade cowl, a simple project pattern, a custom project pattern, and a basic knitting instruction guide for if you get into slip-stitch trouble at home.
The hopeful can expect to learn the basic knitting stitch, how to wrangle circular needles, knitting in the round, reading a basic pattern, develop an understanding of pattern construction, learn to fix mistakes, and learn how to customize simple patterns.
The novice will build learn/build on the above skills and potentially branch out into more complicated stitches, color changes, and even work on a more complicated cowl.
The experienced knitter will spend more time working on design and, if they would like, will be able to incorporate cables and will even have the chance to tackle some color work (think fair isle fisherman's sweaters!) But just so ya know, if you're looking for entrelac color work, that ain't in my wheelhouse to teach from scratch or design, but I can definitely help trouble-shoot and decipher along the way!
Supplies Needed (You provide):
1 pair, 16" circular needles (whatever your yarn requires)
1 skein yarn heavy worsted yarn, 3-4 sts/in.150-200 yards
Feel free to deviate, but be sure that whatever 'gauge' your yarn is, your needle size needs to be appropriate. Also, bring more than one color if you plan on getting crazy. Please avoid sock weight or other very thin yarn. We wanna have a finished product by the end of this thing, after all!
