Katie Kehoe, Triad area poet and accomplished poetry workshop instructor, will spend a couple of hours walking you through basics of contemplating the sensory experience involved with tasting food and drink. From there, the group will explore the various visceral and emotional connections we make when consuming certain things. One by one, experience a guided tasting of Krankies coffee, Sutler's finest small batch distilled gin, and Hoots' latest brew, and spend some time exploring the taste, feeling, nostalgia, and exhilaration (or guilt?) that comes with your enjoyment. KatieKehoe lives in Greensboro, NC where she is currently pursuing an MFA in poetry at UNCG. She began to reimagine the ways in which sensory experience can influence the creation of poetry through her work with blind students. She has won a Truman Capote and John Foster West scholarship for her work in poetry.
